Reviewing Compensation - Optimizing Human Resources
Problem/Situation
Company X contacted Lennick Aberman Group requesting support to review the competitiveness of their compensation plan. This request was based on recent turnover of some key people. After further discussion, it was determined that Lennick Aberman would do a broader assessment of people related processes to determine what other issues might be contributing to the recent turnover in the organization.
Solution
The Lennick Aberman Group conducted an organization assessment including interviews with key people and a review of existing human resources processes and procedures. The results of this assessment and recommendations were provided in a written report and meeting with the head of the HR organization and the business unit leader who had requested the assessment.
Lennick Aberman spent the next six months updating the performance management, career development and communication processes in the organization. In addition Lennick Aberman helped the business unit head reorganize the area in a way that was better aligned with the strategy of the organization. This included a new organization structure and team development for the new leadership team. Lennick Aberman also provided individual coaching for a 12 month period of time to two of the key leaders in the organization to improve leadership effectiveness. During the next year, Lennick Aberman was asked to be part of the annual business planning process to assure that the people processes in the organization were in alignment with the strategy and tactics defined for the year.
Results
The new organization structure and leadership development helped the business unit achieve its goals for the next two years. In addition, employee engagement results improved based on follow up interviews conducted. At an individual level the competence of the leaders improved based on the results of their 360 feedback.
The business unit leader recommended Lennick Aberman to another business unit leader where Lennick Aberman is now doing an organization assessment to determine how they can help this business unit.
