Situation
ABC Corporation has decided it wants to re-energize its workforce. Leaders and their employees have been somewhat disengaged, and senior management has decided it's time to do something. Leadership training has been identified as an opportunity. The Lennick Aberman Group is identified as a resource to meet the opportunity.
Solution
LAG partners familiarize themselves with ABC and its corporate values and culture. The concept of "Breakthrough Leadership", which is all about understanding that effective leadership of others is primarily a function of effective management of oneself and further understanding that effective management of oneself begins with self-awareness, is introduced to and embraced by senior management.
A two day leadership workshop is delivered first to a group of senior managers in one of ABC's most challenged business units and later to several other management teams. The workshop focuses on helping managers become more effective leaders by becoming more effective managers. Participants learn how to align their own behaviors with organizational/personal goals and with organizational/personal values. Managers clearly begin to see and experience that they become more effective leaders as they access and develop their own emotional and moral competencies.
