Values Card Game... for Kids
How It Works
Each child is asked to read through the deck of cards. After reviewing each card carefully, each child sorts the deck into two piles - one pile with the values that are important to them and one pile with the values that are less important. Then, each child continues the process until they narrow the "important" pile to their top five most important values.
Why It Works
Values are defined as the things that are most important to us. Once we decide what is most important, we can act and behave in a way that supports our values. For children of any age, acting and behaving in alignment with their values can help them perform at their best and increase their chances for success. It is both as simple and as difficult as that!
It Works For More Than Kids
This exercise is also useful for parents, families, teachers, principals, coaches and more!
For Group Settings
This exercise can also be very beneficial for a class, team or group of individuals working together toward a common goal. Determining shared values will help a group stay on track toward its goals!
